It sat in the very furthest right hand corner on a bottom shelf at an auction room, with a sticker saying Lot No. 806 on it. I saw it and immediately loved it and then thought how much to bid for it. The first price I thought of was £50 but then decided to negotiate it down to a bid of £35 to account for auction fees.
It was an absent bid and I was told I didn't get the mystery crystal. I was very disappointed. However, not much later Alex rang me and said he'd been to the auction house and had asked how much it went for, and it turned out that it had not reached its reserve and therefore was unsold.
Upon enquiring further, it turns out the reserve was £50. N'duh ...
Needless to say, that was good enough for me and so my new green friend has joined me at home.
He's gorgeous! Even more so after having been polished with one of my best essential oils in the sunshine :-)
I look forward to getting the macro camera out shortly and taking some close ups for a real WonderWorlds gallery.
Love can be found in the most unlikely of places ... :-)

My new mystery stone with my hand to show its size. It is extremely heavy, too!
Standing stone! :-)
Stone on its side - he's beautiful! Worlds upon worlds to be admired and explored :-)
The top is particularly beautiful with these large deep sea green windows
What a beautiful thing!
All hail to the WonderWorlds which are truly everywhere - even in a dusty corner at an auction ... :-)
